Get the most out of a mock
- Record yourself. Phone voice memo is enough. Listening back is uncomfortable and it is the fastest feedback loop available to you.
- Structure before depth. Open with the one-sentence answer, then expand. Rambling into detail without a frame is the most common presentation failure.
- Say the trade-off out loud. โI'd choose X over Y because latency matters more than the last two points of accuracy hereโ scores higher than a correct answer with no reasoning.
- Grade honestly. If you did not mention the key points, it was not a strong answer โ even if you knew them.
- Start early. Six weeks of mock feedback beats two weeks of panic. Do one a week from the start of your preparation.
